Mark was diagnosed with with a rare and aggressive form of prostate cancer that only affects 1% of all men diagnosed with the disease. It was already Stage IV, metastatic prostate cancer that had moved to his bones. This was in November 2015.
For two years he tried every available treatment, and some experimental ones via clinical trials. Through all of this treatment and visits to the doctor, he continued to work, hustle for gigs, paint, draw, and write songs. Two weeks ago, we learned that the cancer had spread to his liver and lungs, and Mark chose to stop treatment. He is resting at home and we have hospice care to ensure that he is comfortable.
I am grateful to have all of you in my life, and it is giving Mark great joy to hear of all your well wishes and expressions of love. Please use this site as a way to leave notes and thoughts that I will share with him.
