Mark Nechodom Mark Walking Forward

Welcome to my CaringBridge website. For now,  I will be using it to inform family and friends about progress in my recovery from a serious skiing accident on Valentine's Day 2020 in Missoula, MT. I appreciate your support, hope and encouragement, and brilliant ideas to solve challenging problems from velcro to fusion power and beyond. . .

Please note: This is certainly not an exercise in self-indulgence or pity-fishing. I am surrounded by loving, smart, practical and humor-packed human beings, both near and far. I just wanted to have a way to share relevant facts or some good head-scratchers while I "walk my way forward" over the next several months. The site is set up for comments, and I can easily post emailed contributions on your behalf. You can say as little or as much as you feel like.  I mainly just want you to know that I care, that I'm thinking about you, and that sometimes a quick "hello post-it" can be far more effective than a lengthy blog post.

A brief note on "Organ Recitals": In Esther's family, when folks get together (even when they haven't seen each other for a while), there's a strict unspoken rule about how much time will be tolerated for updates on rashes, liver enzyme counts, corns and warts, persistent coughs, that chronic ache in the right foot, Aunt Lucy's terrible headaches... and so on, and so on, and on and on and on.... These are called "Organ Recitals."  Enough, already, someone usually says. And then we move on to politics, climate change, movies, etc.

I'm a total fan.

You'll find much more detail in the "Journal" section.  Thanks so much for visiting.

PS: This is an "invitation" site. You're welcome to visit, post comments, etc. as long as you're on "The List." If there's someone I've overlooked or you think should be on "The List," please let me know. My two "co-editors", Laura Lewis and Esther Feldman, have editorial and administrative controls as well.

Thanks!
