Welcome to our caring bridge story! On December 10, in the morning Mark will be having open heart surgery. Mark currently has an aortic aneurysm. The Doctors will be replacing the root of the aortic and doing a valve replacement at that time. Mark will be at Stands hospital in Gainsville, FL. Surgery will take approx. 6-8 hours, he will be in ICU for 2-3 day and in the hospital for 7-8 day. The Dr also said that they may need to put in a pace maker 2-3 days after surgery. Anyone who know Mark know that he had an aneurysm 7 years ago. The doctor said the second surgery is going to be more challenging and difficult due to where it is at. I thought this site would be a good place to keep family and friends informed on Marks journey through surgery and recovery. We covet you thoughts and prays during this time for Mark and our family.
