Mark has B-cell lymphoma behind his nasal passage. A nasal biopsy was done in January 2019, then on January 31st, 2019, the phone call with the diagnosis was given. We met with Dr. Tarek Mekhail, an Orlando oncologist, who ordered tests to find out the extent of the cancer. First, a PET scan was done, then a bone marrow biopsy. On Thursday, March 14th, 2019, we found out the test results and discussed a treatment plan.
In the meantime, Mark read the book “Chris Beat Cancer”. Then he started juicing. One batch of juice consists of: 7 pounds of carrots, a bag of organic green apples, 2 organic lemons, 1 organic limes, 4 beets, a clump of ginger, a package of celery, 2 teaspoons of organic Amla Powder, 2 teaspoons organic Moringa Powder and 3 teaspoons of organic Tumeric.
Mark has eliminated sugar, meats, fish, eggs, dairy including yogurts, cheeses, butter, and wheat. He been drinking 40 ounces of juice every day, plus eating a lot of vegetables, oats, beans and nuts. Mark is laughing that he’s become a vegan (except last night he wanted to taste my salmon and had a bite!).
We have already seen God’s hand in all of this. When the doctor saw the tumor, (which had caused Mark’s hearing loss in his right ear last April 2018) he said he was surprised Mark could move his jaw at all. It was a miracle that God has allowed Mark to have been able to speak and teach this past year.
