Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
As you all may know Mark is currently in the hospital suffering from injuries from a fall.  The most critical of the injuries was a brain bleed.  He had surgery to help try to relieve pressure off the brain from that bleed.  During the surgery they ended up having to take a portion of his frontal lobe and removed part of his skull to allow the brain to swell as needed.  They are keeping him heavily sedated right now and on the ventilator to help him breathe and give his brain time to heal.  Because of the severity of the brain injury the outcome is uncertain. Mark responds to pain stimulation on all four extremities. On a few occasions Mark has opened one eye. His vitals have remained stable. CT scans have shown reduction in the swelling of the brain.  Mark has a long road of recovery ahead of him. The Lowin’s want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask that you continue to do so.   Because they can’t physically respond to all of the calls and messages at this time please refer to this site for updates.
