Mark was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early November of 2017. We are fortunate that the tumor was found at an earlier stage than it often is in pancreatic cancer. As his doctors say-he is in the playoffs-a fitting analogy for someone who began his coaching career in high school and was still coaching just days before his diagnosis. After multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation the tumor has not shrunk and surgery is not possible. A second opinion has confirmed this result. On the positive side, the tumor has not grown or spread. Mark will continue to receive chemotherapy on a regular basis to keep the tumor in check and we pray that at some point it may shrink and make surgery possible.
The support we have received from family, friends, the Little Miami family and the Summit community has been overwhelming. We are so grateful! Please continue to pray and send good thoughts our way. Your love keeps us strong!
