On November 11, soon after being hospitalized for kidney issues, Mark was diagnosed with renal carcinoma aka kidney cancer. It was discovered that the cancer had spread into the inferior vena cava, which is the large vein that carries deoxygenated blood from the lower body to the heart.
On November 28, Mark had an extensive 10 hour surgery to remove the tumors and left kidney. This CaringBridge has been established to update Mark's loved ones with his progress.
