Recently, Mark was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. When he failed to improve his strength as expected and developed worsening fatigue, his team of doctors recommended a cardiac MRI. The pictures revealed a rare condition called amyloidosis. A biopsy of a small amount of fat in his stomach confirmed the suspected diagnosis. He visited the Amyloidosis Clinic at Boston University Medical Center from 9/28-9/30 for a multidisciplinary evaluation. The journal entries below attempt to summarize the updates from Mark's medical care.
