Welcome to Marjorie's CaringBridge website. I'm using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I have been meaning to do this for awhile and finally have (a little extra) time!
Marjorie is set to have surgery on Wednesday, October 18 at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Her right hip socket has not developed properly, so she will be having a pelvic osteotomy. Pelvic osteotomy involves reshaping a shallow hip socket so that it accommodates the ball of the hip joint (femoral head). Although it's an "elective" surgery, it was strongly recommended for Marjorie by her therapists and orthopedic doctors. The plan is to stay 3-5 days in the hospital and return home in a brace that she'll wear for 6 weeks.
