Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support. Thank you for visiting.

After years of mystery symptoms, competing illnesses and different treatment plans, Marilyn was diagnosed in the late spring of 2017 with myasthenia gravis (MG), a chronic condition that causes severe muscular weakness.  It typically causes difficulty with speech, chewing and swallowing.  There are treatments for MG but most of them are not possible in this case due to allergies, other health issues, or high risk.  A course of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) showed decreasing effectiveness over the last six months.  Meanwhile, some of those other competing health issues have persisted.

Marilyn has decided to stop treating her MG and to focus instead on managing pain.  The last few weeks have been filled with visits from family and friends, and Marilyn is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and appreciation.
