Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On August 2, 2021, Marie received a devastating diagnosis....a Grade 4 Glioblastoma on the right side of her brain.  We were all shocked, heartbroken and terrified. Mom is 82.  She told us that she wants to fight..that she still has things to do on this earth and intends to do them.  So we got second and third opinions and eventually ended up at Sloan Memorial Kettering in NYC.  On Tuesday, August 10th, Mom underwent a craniotomy where they tried to remove as much of the tumor as they could.  From there she spent 10 days recovering from Surgery and on Wednesday, August 25th she began radiation and Chemo. She will have 15 rounds radiation over the next 3 weeks while simultaneously taking Chemo.  She will remain at Sloan for this time.  She is also currently fighting c-diff which is a painful inflammation of the colon.  She is on her second round of  antibiotics for this and we hope to see improvement soon.  I knew my mom touched many lives but over the last few weeks the Facebook messages, texts,  and phone calls we have all received, have shown us that my mom's impact on others far outreaches what we even imagined.  She is loved by many and the love and support we have already felt in helping mom get to this point has been incredible and we will be forever grateful.  We will try to update you here on Mom's  status. We know you all love Mom and want to hear how she is doing and we will do our best to update you as often as possible. Please feel  free to write a message to her here and we will make sure she gets it. If you have a funny memory you share with mom, post it here and we will share it with her.  As you can imagine, it is difficult to keep her spirits up at times but we know we will get to the other side of this with your continued love and support.
