Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Dear Friends of Marianna,
Marianna was hospitalized on  July 1 with severe back pain. She was found to have a blood infection and the pain was ultimately  diagnosed as an epidural abscess, however there was no neurosurgeon available  to operate in Santa Fe. Marianna and Myriah were airlifted to Colorado Springs where she underwent neurosurgery Tuesday July 7.  She was recovering  well when complications revealed multiple severe active ulcers in her stomach.  Marianna underwent an endoscopy and two days later a radiographical imaging procedure to address the ulcers.  Her hemoglobin levels have remained steady, and she was able to sit up and even walk a little yesterday. The blood infection is controlled however will require IV antibiotics for 6 weeks on an outpatient basis.   We are anticipating her discharge this week potentially, but she will need many weeks of ongoing recovery to regain her strength.  Please use this site to leave any comments for her (she will be able to read them), when she feels strong enough to communicate directly I will post an update!
