Welcome to Marian's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers and words of hope and encouragement.

After overcoming her recent battle with breast cancer last year, Marian was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after experiencing increased digestive discomfort upon returning home from a vacation in California.  Initial testing in Dubuque a few weeks ago showed a mass on the upper part of her pancreas, and further testing at Mayo Clinic confirmed stage 2 pancreatic cancer.  The mass on her pancreas was restricting the digestive process, and so she underwent surgery last week to insert a drain which would provide relief from the symptoms she was experiencing.  The surgery went well, but the recovery process has been slow, and painful.  Her next steps will include chemotherapy treatments, followed by surgery to remove the tumor.

She knows she has a long and challenging road to healing ahead, but she knows she is in the best hands possible between her team of doctors at Mayo and Dubuque, and the support of family and friends.
