As many of you know, my wonderful, beautiful sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Her diagnosis came in early October; ironically Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The days following her diagnosis were filled with many tests and doctor visits. She learned that although the diagnosis was a blow, the prognosis and treatment is very good because of early detection. Maria will be having surgery at Rochester General on Monday, October 31st. Her surgery is set for 12:30. She will most likely stay in the hospital for two days, then she will recover at home.
