Welcome to Mariahn's (once Marion, legally Mariann) CaringBridge site, created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. On March 5th she had major brain surgery to remove a giant meningioma, a benign brain tumor that was squashing her brain stem fully to one side of the space it once occupied. We are grateful for your support in helping Mariahn recover all the functionality she had going into surgery, and more. We're gearing up for a long haul. Our love, prayers, hope and support plus her courage, determination, intentions and vision will get her there.
For now we'll tell Mariahn's story via the text of the email we sent out repeatedly the week before surgery as we started assembling an email address list. We sent it only to the friends and family we felt may not yet know about her brain tumor (found in June of 2012) and/or our search for surgical options.
It is also a story about how we found ourselves with only a week to prepare for this huge and life-transforming event.

This Caringbridge Website is being created to replace much of the functionality of the periodic emails I've sent out over the past 3 days. Today I will be sending out one more update on her condition along with instructions for visiting this site to get the latest news, review earlier posts, and/or post comments.
