Other than having a large liver shaped a little like Florida, the summer had been going well. We were getting ready to go to Switzerland for a wonderful hiking adventure with family. NP school was proceeding along well, work was good. Then one morning I noticed I had passed some blood. This continued for awhile. When we got back from our vacation, I made an appointment for a colonoscopy, thinking it would be just routine. Sadly, it wasn't. There was a mass inside me that was confirmed as Stage II rectal cancer. A very curable cancer, but one that requires aggressive treatment. Soon I will be starting radiation treatments concurrent with chemotherapy pills. After that, surgery. Tough, but I'm ready to beat this! I will need, however, lots of prayers and encouragement. So I would greatly appreciate your kind thoughts and words of hope. Thank you for visiting, I will be posting as we go....
