Marcia Hanson

Marcia was diagnosed with ALS during the summer of 2015. At the time, she and her husband Jeffrey Hanson were living in Circle Pines, Minnesota. By winter, Marcia and Jeff had moved to Portsmouth, Rhode Island, to be close to their children and grandchildren. 


Each day Marcia spends time taking in the beauty around her. Often, she and Jeff (or she and whoever else is with her) watch the sunset over the sea. Yes--it is possible to see the sun set over the sea in Rhode Island because many of the arms of the island face west across expanses of ocean. Mornings, you might find Marcia on her deck, doing yoga in her chair. 



Marcia has been happy to have many who love her come to visit, staying with her for a few days or a couple of weeks. She delights in contact with her dear friends in Minnesota and her beloved family and friends in Brazil. She will enjoy any messages from her friends, her past students, and her family here on Caring Bridge.
