Manneau from Haiti

First post: Jan 15, 2018
From one of the poorest countries of the world sometimes comes the most courageous souls. In a place where hurricanes, earthquakes and floods have ravished an already poverty stricken country lives our Haitian friend.
At 28, he would love to realize the dreams that we often take for granted. He would love to get married and have a family. To this end he has worked hard. He has saved money working and schooling til he has graduated from school and learned English, he has come to America working 3 summers trying hard to get ahead. Somehow it seems as though in spite of trying so hard, there has been setback after setback . He started a house for himself, but then the Hurricanes came and instead of his own home, he put his money into rebuilding his mother's house . He purchased a motorcycle for $800 , spent many hot hours in the Sun waiting for somebody who needed a ride, this taxi service is a very dangerous job, and about 6 months ago he was rear-ended and ended up in the hospital.
In Haiti in order to go into the hospital you must give your money to the hospital before being admitted. Also, the man who had hit him took his motorbike and demanded payment before releasing it .
Once again his savings were swallowed up . After he had straightened the frame as best he could, he went back to taxi service. Next his brother got sick and he spent his money to help him . In the recent months he has been trying hard to earn enough money to purchase a pickup as this makes a little more money and is much safer .
Last week as he was heading home in the midst of traffic there was a vehicle in front of him a bus behind him and he went off the road to avoid an oncoming truck. The bus that was behind him also went off the road and hit Manneau. He was thrown off his bike. He was severely injured and hospitalized with head injuries. His hospital stay has taken everything he had. Someone took his bike and once again they will not give it to him unless he pays them for it .
Throughout the last several years we have been in contact with him through thick and thin. He has been very courageous and faithful to the Lord, trying hard to keep his trust in God and know that surely God would see him through. We as his American friends , that he calls his family , ask for your help in paying his medical bills , and if possible, to help get his bike back. We appreciate your support and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. and helping.
