Theo Malkamaki Malkamaki Family

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Many of you are already following Theo's updates on my (Solène) Facebook page.
Théo's condition is going to require long term medical care and hospitalization.

We are extremely grateful for all the help, prayers and support we have received.  Many are still eager to help and not always knowing how. Though I would rather not duplicate my efforts to send updates this Caring Bridge site offers a handy way to coordinate help.

Dan was able to take some FMLA time so we could take turns being with Theo and also spend some time with our other children when possible. Although Theo will still be in the PICU for a while  Dan needs to go back to work.

I have been able to secure help on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, so that the kids are not alone when I am at the hospital.  While Theo is in the ICU we're asking for help to cover Tuesdays and Fridays.

Our hope is that he will eventually be moved to a long term inpatient rehab facility. We're looking forward to the time his condition won't be so critical and we can all adjust to a new "normal". In the meantime, thank you for standing in the gap with us.

Much love and thanks from
Dan, Solène, Matias, Thomas, Théo, Lila, Sami, Niko and Mika.
