Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most. As many of you know, Malcolm is now a six-year survivor from bile duct cancer. We had just given a huge sigh of relief this past November when he was deemed cancer-free but now Malcolm is facing a new battle. In early March, Malcolm had an endoscopy due to pain in his belly and back along with severe fatigue and weight loss. This procedure included an internal sonogram and they discovered a tumor in his pancreas. The biopsy shows that he has pancreatic adenocarcinoma. On March 28, Malcolm had a PET scan and a CT scan which focused on his pancreas and liver. We are hoping that the scans will determine that Malcolm is able to have his pancreas, and tumor, removed surgically and that there is no evidence of the cancer other than the tumor. We will try to provide regular journal updates to share what we learn as well as additional details on other complications that have ensued, (see our first Journal entry for March 30th).  Feel free to send info about this CaringBridge page to others who we may have missed.  CaringBridge is a great vehicle to manage communications, but please do not feel any need to donate on behalf of Malcolm.  We will gladly do that ourselves.  Mostly we want you to know how much we appreciate all of your support.
