DAY 1 HOW IT HAPPENED, NOVEMBER 17TH , 2022

SURREALITY My dad came to visit us and to help us move some things. We actually had lost power on Monday night so went to dinner and had an amazing time. Dad was looking forward to spending time with Jason and on Tuesday, they drove around town, just being goofy guys.. On Wednesday the 17th of November, they had almost finished moving everything and then they were going to Arby's. They were moving our big Fridge that he purchased for us and that's when every thing changed. Jason was on the top of the stairs holding the Fridge and Dad was at the bottom. A moment, a slip, a fall and Jason saw Dad fall, hit his head and struggled to keep the Fridge from falling onto Dad. Dad was on the ground and blood was coming from his head and ears. He was out for 2 minutes and then started to come to and was moving and tried to sit up, but was coherent according to Jason. Jason called 911 and it rang 40 times (choice words I am sure were heard), he hung up and called again, an ambulance arrived shortly thereafter. Dad was being uncooperative and not following requests. He was loaded into the ambulance and whisked away. Jason said that a very mammoth man asked if he still needed to get the Fridge in the trailer and J said yes and apparently they guy just picked it up. I was at work and Jason came and said that my Dad was being rushed to St Pete's and blood was coming out of his ears. Seriously? Processing....or not? I didn't say goodbye to my Dad that morning and he was right across the driveway. Why? I called my sister Erin who works in the medical field as I was still finishing with patients (I am a veterinarian) and had a full schedule. She tried calling and guess what? they couldn't find him... The place where he fell was like 5 minutes away from hospital. What? She called multiple times and so did I...I kept worrying that he refuses medical care and was going to become a lost homeless amnesia patient! Erin, rushed into action, driving up here (probably too fast) and took matters into her hands. SHE is Amazing!! She found where he was and that he was being transferred to ICU. He had multiple skull fractures, hematoma, subdural hemorrhage, etc. They medically sedated him. He was critical. Day 1
