Mom came into the hospital Thursday night because she couldn't breathe. She has COPD and uses oxygen but just couldn't get control of her breathing. After a number of neb treatments and being on a bi-pap machine, they decided to put her on a ventilator. After X-Ray, CAT Scan, and biopsies they have determined that she has non small cell squamous carcinoma, lung cancer. This tumor in her lungs is blocking 70% of one of her bronchial tubes. We are potentially heading to National Jewish Hospital in Denver tomorrow to have a stent put in to open this area up then will take care of this treatable tumor.
