Madeline was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome many years ago. Marfan is a connective tissue disorder. Because connective tissue is found throughout the body, Marfan syndrome can affect many different parts of the body - the heart, blood vessels, bones, joints, and eyes.
Very early on 12/26/16, Madeline was brought to the ER with chest pains. The doctors diagnosed an aortic dissection. She went into surgery @ 9 a.m and came out @ 4 p.m.! Things went well and the surgeons did an Aortic Root Replacement (aka David Procedure) and Hemiarch replacement.
What is needed most is prayers, positive thoughts and good karma for precious Madeline. Janaan, Kevin and Mike are at Northwestern caring for Madeline and each other.
