Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this fight. Thank you for visiting. Here is what has happened so far:
First of all our darling girl knows how lucky she is to be surrounded by family and friends near and far. On July 6th, our sweet girl was diagnosed with a Midline Glioma. It is an inoperable Brainstem tumor that was causing strong headaches.
She underwent brain surgery on 7/8/22 to obtain a biopsy and to get as much tumor as possible at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was discharged on 7/11/22.
On 7/24/22,  she started getting headaches and vomiting,  we rushed her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with hydrocephaly due to the tumor size. This tumor was blocking the cerebrospinal fluid from draining. She had a second brain surgery in less than 20 days to place a shunt that allows the fluid to bypass the tumor to drain in her belly.
The biopsy results were the worst news of all.  Even though she had what appeared to be a low grade glioma(not aggressive and slow growing), the doctors found a mutation that make these tumors highly aggressive, we went from low class 1 to High 4 grade tumor.
On 8/4/22 she started radiation therapy for 30 days. Every Monday thru Friday for 6 weeks.  The team at Hopkins did an amazing job making her feel comfortable, and adding a little magic to the whole treatment(Ravenclaw magic).
The tumor responded really well to radiation, with 50% shrinking of the tumor the doctors were pleased.  This meant a little hope and some time away from the hospital.
1/11/23 after an MRI to check how the tumor was we found out that there are new lesions on her ventricles and spine. This progression concerns the doctors because it  is growing to fast and not many optuons to stop it. Basically mote radiation and clinical trials.
1/24/23 She started a new round of radiation that will be stronger and debilitating for her.

This is where we are right now, it is a horrible time for our family. We now are ready to share this with you, our family and friends because we know our dear girl needs all your support.
