Friday. 9-15-17. Hey family and friends ! 2nd day post surgery here at UPMC Pittsburg on the amazing transplant floor! Care is the most incredible I have ever experienced. Trying to voice text slowly as many drains,drugs and lines but doing well and so very blessed!!
Surgery was a huge success... 9 1/2 hours with talented Dr Ruy Cruz and his wonderful team trying to repair what is left of my intestines from years of Crohn's and radiation damage. 275 stitches I have to be careful not to tear.
We start out with 25 feet of total intestine and I now have 7 feet left after 4 more resections this week. In the big picture that is a lot compared to other Crohn's patients and G.I. surgery warriors!
