As many of you are aware, Lynn has had a chronic cough dating back to September. Thinking it was just a cold we did nothing about it. However, in the past few weeks it started getting worse and on Monday, November 6, her temperature spiked to 103. We went to the emergency room and she was admitted to the hospital where she remains today. Lynn was initially treated for pneumonia plus a few minor ailments which were identified including a bacterial infection called MRSA. It isn't considered serious but Lynn is in isolation to keep it from spreading in the hospital ward.
Lynn had previously been scheduled to have a biopsy perform on her lungs on November 8. This was postponed because of her weakened condition.
To fast forward, the doctors now believe Lynn may not have had pneumonia because the cough and headaches have not responded to the antibiotics. They suspect the problem is in her lungs. She has "scar tissue" forming that may be resulting from an anti-immune disorder. They are trying to get the biopsy rescheduled as soon as possible.
