Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

If you know Lynn Kilburg, you know he puts his friends and family before himself, works harder than the average person, serves the community with a great big heart and chances are he has done a favor or two for you without thinking twice about it. Also, there is no doubt that if you have ever been faced with a challenge, or had a down day around Lynn, you have probably received one of his great big hugs and been told, "everything will be alright".

On November 3, Lynn was diagnosed with Covid-19 and after battling progressing symptoms at home he was taken by ambulance (on 11/12) to Genesis and admitted to the ICU with bi-lateral pneumonia. Over the next week Lynn saw little improvement and his care team decided it best to intubate him (on 11/19). While he remains intubated and fed by the g-tube, Lynn is continuing to fight this disease with the strength and determination we all know so well. His care team continues to monitor is O2 levels (averaging between 60-70%) and balance his sedation and paralytic medicine at levels appropriate for his overall care and healing. While he has seen some recent steps forward, he continues to be 100% dependent on the ventilator and his overall care plan/timeline will continue on for sometime.

Lynn works as a District Mechanic with District 6 at the Iowa Department of Transportation for over 25 years now, as well as 12 years with Kroeger Trucking. He also serves as the President of NS Athletic Boosters and like with everything else he does, serves in these capacities with genuine care, unmatched persistence (he doesn't run when the going gets tough) and a work ethic second to none. With that said, his most important "job" is his family and there is no doubt that when he recovers, he will find comfort in knowing that Tina (wife), Breanna, Brooke and Trevor (kids) have received lots of love, hugs and support over the past few weeks. Tina, along with Bre, BK and Bubbs have tremendous appreciation for their friends, co-workers, his family "up north" and the NS Community, in general. Many folks have offered help, expressed care, made meals, shared gift cards, done yard work and filled Tina and the kids days with love. As Lynn continues his work to get better, we will continue to let he and his family know, "Everything will be alright!".
