Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
My sister Lynnae was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. It was discovered early through a routine mammogram and it was a pea sized lump, which was removed in a timely manner. Her recovery was long and it included a full course of radiation treatments. She got through it with clean margins and her doctors were confident they got it all, with a small chance of reoccurrence.
In November, Lynnae found out through a routine mammogram that she had "abnormalities" in the same breast. On January 25 , she will going through a bilateral mastectomy to get rid of it, once and for all! This surgery will be much more intense than the last one and her initial surgery will be in conjunction with reconstructive surgery, which will consume most of her 2018.
At this time, we do not know if she will need to have chemotherapy after surgery. That decision will be made between Lynnae and her Oncologist when the pathology results come back after surgery.
We are super optimistic but she could really use some positive vibes, camaraderie and support.
We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
