Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On September 10 we took Lydia to urgent care for a mild fever and unusual rash. While she was clearly not feeling well, we didn't suspect anything serious. Urgent care didn't like the rash and sent us to the emergency room. The ER ran some tests and told us the likely diagnosis of Leukemia and said we needed to get to Children's Hospital right away. In less than 8 hours we went from our family watching TV together on the couch to settling into our room in the Macc Fund Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. In the early hours on September 11 Lydia was officially diagnosed with Leukemia and we would later find out more specifically she falls into the high risk B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia category (B-cell ALL).
