Welcome to our CaringBridge site.
My name is Lydia. I am married to my best friend Dave, and we have 2 boys, Silas and Jonas.

Almost four years ago I had my first MRI brain scan on May 12, 2016. From that scan they were able to find a 9cm mass in my brain on the upper right hand side.
We met with a neurosurgeon the next day who showed us the scans and encouraged us to have as much of it removed as soon as possible. We got a second opinion at Duke University, but we never had peace about the surgery. We prayed about it and pressed into the Lord to seek His will for what we should do, Surgery was never something that it seemed like we were supposed to do.
Four years have passed now and we are only grateful for our decision to wait and watch and ask for God's healing. Many have disagreed with this very personal decision, but I'm still confident that this is the best path for me.

As a result of the midline shift in my brain from the mass, I have developed epilepsy (a seizure disorder) and I have partial (focal) seizures from time to time. I am on medication for this condition, but I am unable to drive as a result of the episodes.

We are still waiting and praying for healing. God could still choose to heal me instantly and supernaturally. He could also do it therapeutically using natural approaches over time. We don't know, but we are trusting Him for each day and continuing to believe His promises. In the meantime, I continue to research natural ways to support my body and take care of it to the best of my ability. God has faithfully held us through this health journey and we know He will continue to do so.

My goal is to be as open and honest as possible on this journey so that you all know how to pray for us.

Thank you so much for praying for us. We covet your prayers for healing. Please also pray that we would be clear, bright lights for the Lord and that God would show Himself in mighty ways to all who are watching our story unfold.
