Lydia Mock

Lydia Rosa Velez was born on March 20, 1935.  She grew up as a child in the village of Mayaguez on the west coast of Puerto Rico.  She is the 7th of 8 children in her family, 7 girls and one boy.  When her brother Joe got out of the US Army, he began the process of moving his whole family to the states, traveling across country and finally settling in California.  Lydia came to the states at the age of 14.  As a young lady, she worked at a box factory in the Los Angeles area where she met Victor Mock and married him at age 19.  Lydia has four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.  She has been living a quiet life in Apple Valley, California where she has been an active member of the Jess Ranch Community Church.  On September 16, 2016 she went to the hospital for a procedure and to get some tests run on her health.  The tests showed some abnormalities and after several more visits with the doctors and a surgery, it was determined that she had fallopian tube cancer, stage 3c.
