Welcome! We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement! In the spring of 2021, Luke started reporting of pain around his left knee . At the time, he was training for a hiking trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, so we thought it was related to that. Afterwards, the pain persisted  and we took him to see the doctor.  An MRI identified a tumor behind his left knee. A subsequent biopsy revealed that Luke has Clear Cell Sarcoma (CCS) , a rare soft tissue cancer. In mid-November, 2021, Luke's orthopedic oncology surgeon removed the tumor. In April of 2022, we learned Luke's cancer had returned in the lymphnodes in his groin and he was referred to MD Anderson for treatment. By October of 2022, systemic treatment was holding the cancer stable, so radiation and surgery was completed in November and December. During surgery, additional spread of the disease was found and Luke was referred for the only known clinical trial for Clear Cell Sarcoma.

In early March, Luke started the clinical treatment at MD Anderson and is hoping for a good response and tolerable side effects.
