Luke, Brandi, & Baby Micah Grier Luke, Brandi, and baby Mi

First post: Aug 1, 2018
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement for Baby Micah, Brandi, and Luke Grier.

Micah has a Duodenal Artesia which is a closure of the intestine where it meets the stomach. It causes Polyhydramnios which increased the amniotic fluid build up in the amniotic sac prior to birth. This only happens in 1% of pregnancies. There is a chance of  Down syndrome but we are awaiting test results.

Brandi was moved to Medical City Dallas on July 6 on bed rest where she stayed until Micah was born. Luke has been making the expensive drive back and forth from Tyler to Dallas for weeks in order to work as much as possible before Micah arrived. They are down to one income and one car but still have all the usual bills such as rent, electric, water, meals, gas, insurance, etc.

They really need our support!

Since Brandi went into the hospital so early we were unable to have a baby shower to welcome Micah. They have some things but not nearly what they need. Once they figure out what is needed, we will add a “wish list” to this posting.

The doctor scheduled Brandi’s induction for August 3, but Micah made his appearance on July 31, 2018.  Now that Micah is born he will require a surgery to correct his Duodenal Artesia and will be in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for a couple months for recovery.  Once Brandi is discharged she and Luke will have to decide the details and handle the expense of where to stay close to the hospital, eat their meals, and other related expenses.  They will need lots of help at this point as they want to be with Micah as much as possible through his recovery.

We would like to ask for prayers of healing, peace, and faith over Micah, Brandi, Luke, and their whole family. Thank you for taking the time to read their story and if you can donate or help them financially in any amount it will be greatly appreciated!

They will need a second vehicle to get Brandi back and forth to and from the hospital. She will be breast feeding and needing to deliver milk during this time.

We appreciate all the love and prayers they are recieving please keep it up!

We will keep you updated!
