Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  On December 22, 2017 , Kenan underwent Whipple Surgery.  If you are not familiar with this procedure, it is an operation where the head of the pancreas, a portion of the bile duct, the gallbladder and the duodenum is removed.  After removal of these structures, the remaining pancreas, bile duct and intestine is sutured back into the intestine to direct the gastrointestinal secretions back into the  gut.  The surgery lasted 9 hours.  The biopsy came back confirming pancreatic cancer and  a life giving plan was set in place for a year of chemo and radiation.   This has not happened as of yet, because he has been rushed to the er two times since leaving the hospital the first time with infection resulting from the surgery.  To say this has taken a tole on he and Judy would be an understatement, however God has made his presence known in huge ways through prayer chains, timing of events that could only come from him, and the sustainable positive attitude of Kenan Brock.  He is currently at home recovering and trying to gain strength and weight to endure the treatment.  They have a nurse coming in to help Judy, physical therapist, oncologist, infectious disease doctor,  2 drains currently still draining an abscess, and a pic line in his arm to administer iv antibiotics and are going in for iv fluids 3x a week!
