Terrell, T or Mr. T as he is known by many is in need of the love & support that he gives to others. His close friends & family know that the smile that brightens up lives often is masking increasingly unbearable pain. T was led to Cinco through the answered prayer of being able to work one job where he could make a difference. Through a smile, kindness and speaking the truth when needed he has touched lives. In recent years Terrell's pain increased to other areas of his body and he began having days where the all over pain & fatigue was so severe he couldn't get out of bed. He was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2013. Since his diagnosis he has been through many combinations of medications, to many appointments, through many tests all in hopes of relief. Throughout this time pain in his neck & his shoulder have become excruciating. Walking has also become difficult. This past summer his pain had gotten to a level that he began expressing that he couldn't continue living like this. Life altering pain. We went through a lot of tough times over the past year, through many doctors and with guidance from family we now feel he has a good team of doctors. His new Rheumatologist quickly assessed that all his pain was not due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. New medications brought enough relief that his smile was real & he was "singing" again at home. More tests & more appointments led to a Neurosurgeon that affirmed that there was a reason for the pain. Terrell has very involved degeneration in both his cervical and lumbar spine causing nerve compression. His surgeon can only address one area at a time and his neck was chosen because the pain & headaches have become debilitating. He will have fusion from C-3 to C-7 on January 10th.
