Louise was diagnosed with stage two rectal cancer in November 2015. After months of grueling radiation and chemotherapy treatments in 2016, we rejoiced in the disintegration of her tumor and had hoped and believed that that was indeed the end of her cancer. After a routine scan in July of 2017, it was confirmed that the cancer had returned. Doctors are hopeful that major surgery will completely remove the cancer cells that have grown back and they do not believe that any more chemotherapy will be needed.
