Lou Bartnick

First post: Jul 4, 2018

We have started this CaringBridge website because Lou has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and we would like to keep our lovely friends and family informed in one place. He was taken to the ER after falling last weekend where we discovered that he had a tumor in his brain stem that was interfering with the flow of his spinal fluid. This would explain his rapidly declining health that was noticeable around March but was made evident around the beginning of June.

Now, he is in the hands of great medical experts in the field at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek receiving the best possible care around the clock to minimize his symptoms and increase his quality of life. He has been given medication that is making him feel much more energetic and more like his usual self. We are all so relieved to see him in good spirits with a clear mind. Right now, we are waiting for test results to come back in order to determine what kind of cancerous cells are in his body and what kind of treatment they to which they would respond best.

At this time, we are asking for privacy and good thoughts as we await test results. On this page, we would love to see words of love and encouragement for Lou and our family. We will update it as often as we can in order to let all of you know how everything is going. Also note that it is not necessary to donate to us or to the page, we are simply using this as a platform to keep friends and family up to date in one place.

Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time.
