Lory Ruggles

First post: Jan 24, 2018 Latest post: Feb 5, 2019
In early September, Lory discovered a small gumball sized lump in her abdomen.  After a few tests and a couple doctors, it was determined that this is not just a lump, it is stage 4, moderately aggressive, Cancer of Unknown Primary.  This type of Cancer is extremely rare and very difficult to treat.  After several tests, numerous doctors and 4 cycles of Chemo, her team of doctors have still had no success in determining the primary source of the cancer.  Lory has a long road ahead of her.  Her first Chemo (4 cycles) didn't seem to work.  Next step is surgery to remove this now 3.5" tumor that just keeps growing and growing.  After surgery, she will go back down the road of trying to determine where the cancer is originating from and what needs to happen next to help stop it from continuing to spread and grow.

As with any medical situation, Lory’s recovery will face a lot of financial hardships.  She is dedicated to keeping her spirits high and not let this deter her one bit.  Any donations made will be used to help support Lory during this difficult time.  Some of the financial strains she has/will be facing are medical costs, transportation fee’s, possible hotel expenses near Mayo Clinic.  In addition to these, she is eating through her work Paid Time Off very quickly and will possibly face income hardships in the future as well.

There is not obligation to to donate, however if you would like to specifically donate to Lory, please do so via the GoFund Me page - https://www.gofundme.com/loryruggles.    Donating through the Caring Bridge site will go to a Caring Bridge General account and it will not go to Lory.

Again, you kind words, prayers and any donations made are sincerely appreciated.  Any medical situation faced is easier to face with a strong support system, which comes from each and every one of you!
