On June 2nd Mom(Lori) was taken into the ER for massive swelling and shortness of breath. While in the ER she got results for a chest X-ray and a CAT scan which showed a large mass in her right lung and several small masses in the left. She was released that night, and my sister and I flew in from Indiana to be there with her, the following Monday we went to see an oncologist and start our journey. After blood test, Pulmonary function test, PET scan, and a biopsy she landed herself in the ICU of Halifax hospital. The night of June 14th we were told moms oxygen levels weren't stable and the cancer was overtaking her lungs and possibly in her liver, they said to call the family in.. So we did! And let me tell you what a "family" we have. People flew in and drove numerous miles, people took shifts and we all supported her. The next day she was already improving and we had made it thru another night! She was diagnosed with stage 4 non small cell lung cancer. This cancer is very aggressive and she must start treatments ASAP! We will make our journey to Indiana with mom and get her into an oncologist there and start our journey!! I will post entries and stories and pictures here for all to share together! #prayforlori
