My story began over 12 years ago! I spent more than two years in search of an answer to my “not feeling quite right”. What was the cause or was I imagining all of it? Doctor after doctor eliminated things along the way, bad things! By the grace of God, I did not have those things. And I was grateful.

In 2007 I was diagnosed as having Parkinsons. Grateful again for at least knowing what we were dealing with, the journey began. Many years passed and I managed along pretty well! My neurologist described me as “passing the mall test”. Walking in the mall, no one would know I had Parkinsons.

But as time went on the disease progressed. I had now reached the place where more than medication was needed. This brought me to the point of doing the DBS surgery.
