Saturday, Feb 18.

It’s with a very heavy heart that we let you know that Lori passed away peacefully this morning.

Mike, Winnie, Tyler, many of the Rechins and Ryders and a few friends surrounded her with love and prayer all week.

To quote a message received this morning, ‘She lived a full, fun life with love and gratitude. Even when she got sick she radiated a positivity and zest for life that I admired. We should take comfort in the fact that although she was taken from us sooner than anyone would’ve liked, she can finally rest easy free from pain and the knowledge it was a life well lived.’

Yes, to know Lori was to feel loved by Lori. Her generous heart, positive energy, and ‘let’s do it’ attitude will be missed by so many of us.

God bless her sweet soul. She is with the Lord and reunited with her parents and all of her puppies.

If you posted a message here or sent any of us a text, we read them all to her. She knows you loved her and were thinking about her.

As soon as funeral service details are finalized, we’ll post them here.

Post from earlier this week.

Dear family, friends and fans of Lori Rechin (Sheridan) Ryder.

We’ve started this CaringBridge site to keep you up-to-date on Lori’s journey.

In December, Lori was accepted in a Clinical Trial at VCU and was optimistic about the possibilities it could offer her fight. Sadly, when it was time for the trial to start, her cancer had progressed to a point that the trial became too risky for her participation.

She and Mike met with Lori’s Oncologist yesterday and Dr. Rogers confirmed that there aren’t any additional treatment options at this point.

So now, with the help of Hospice, the focus is on Lori’s comfort.

Lori is at peace. She remains strong in her faith, grateful for so many blessings in life and for this time of reflection.

She’s pretty weak and sleeps most of the time so keeping up with communication isn’t possible. Please leave her messages here and we’ll make sure to share them all.

Please continue to keep Lori in your prayers.
