Lorie Volker

Thank you for visiting Lorie's site.  Lorie, 35 and her son Braylen, 6 live in Brighton, MI.  On or about six months ago Lorie started to experience some rib and back pain.  She was under the care of her doctors and chiropractors but mostly for pain control.  Last Thursday March 10th she was home after a business trip and after experiencing back spasms went to get out of bed and collapsed.  She and Braylen got a nice ride in an ambulance to U of M where they discovered that she had 5 fractured vertebrae.  Immediately they started running all the tests possible and many biopsies from different locations and multiple scans.  Through these tests they discovered that she has Cancer in the tissues and bone areas of her spine.  

Lorie will be meeting her oncologist this week and will create a treatment plan.  Unfortunately her vertebrae are inoperable and she will need to undergo chemotherapy.

Lorie is in amazing spirits and is very positive and ready to kick some Cancer's Butt!!! All who know Lorie know that she is determined to win the fight against cancer, and is heading into her treatment with nothing but positive thoughts and courage.

At this point Lorie's family is working on a schedule to stay with her and help her transition into this new chapter.  This page will be updated as treatment progresses and if anything is needed.  Right now keep a positive mindset and continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
