In December Lori aka my mom, was diagnosed with Stage 3-A Small Cell Lung Cancer that is inoperable and aggressive.  Because she was diagnosed earlier than most people with this type of cancer, the team at the Knight Cancer Center/OHSU were fast and aggressive with treatment.  Her first round of 3 day Chemo treatments was January 20th.  She had an 18 day "break" if you will and then started again on February 9th.  With this round they also introduced radiation treatments.  This is also when we got the surprise that she would have to do 7 straight weeks of radiation as well as her normal chemo schedule.  Which brings us to now..... She's on her 3rd round of chemo and has started the long 7 week process of radiation.  She's in good spirits and fighting hard.  Dad's with her and for now they're staying in the coach in Portland.
I was hoping this would be the best way to let everyone know what's going on.  Sometimes it's hard to remember whom you've told what and who's up to date!  Hopefully I can get mom (I know not Dad)  to do some journal updates as well and I know they'll love to hear from you so please leave happy/positive/uplifting messages and notes of encouragement!  I'll try my best to keep up!!!!!!!
