Lori was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer in March 2021. The primary tumor is small, the size of a grain of sand; located inside her small bowel (ileum). Unfortunately, the cancer has metastasized to the lining of her bowels, lymph nodes, liver and hip bone. She will be having surgery at Mayo Rochester on 3/22/2021. The focus of this surgery will be to remove the primary tumor in the ileum, the mass which lines her bowels and lesions on/inside the liver. The surgery will also help guide the next steps in the treatment plan (chemotherapy, radiation, or hormonal therapy).
