Loreta was in a very serious car accident on Monday evening.  She was driving home from a business meeting and was hit broadside in the drivers side. She miraculously had the wherewithal to find her phone and tell the officer to call her husband, so he was able to get to her very quickly. The emergency team cut her out of the car and transported her to Waterbury Hospital.
Arriving there at 11:00 they were there till 2:30 before discovering the injuries were too severe to be handled at Waterbury Hospital. The injuries that were discovered via CTscan were as follows: Bleeding on the brain,  kidney, liver and spleen, broken left arm, 6 broken ribs, pelvis broken and fractured in multiple places.
Loreta was airlifted to Yale New Haven Hospital. The trauma team at Yale were superb; they worked to keep Loreta stabilized and monitored her closely. By 5:00 am she was sent for another CTscan at which point they saw the bleeding had subsided on the brain and internally on her organs. The prayers of so many were breaking through to the heavenlies before the throne of God.
Loreta was then transferred to the Surgical ICU were the progress was slow but steady.
On Wednesday evening they decided to schedule surgery to repair the  damages pelvis, closing the breaks as much as possible and fastening with titanium hardware.
On Thursday morning Vin was able to speak with the head surgeon and get answers to questions and prayed with Loreta and the surgeon for Gods' guiding hand and his mercy.
As of 5:30 on Thursday she is through surgery and resting. Praise be to God; Maker of heaven and earth.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 months. She now faces the painful journey of rehab!
Through all of this Loreta has been such a champ.... so strong, positive, not a word of complaint. It's hard for her, being such a productive, driven person, to reconcile the reality that she'll be out of commission for a while!

We are so thankful to each of you for all your prayers and support! It is incredibly encouraging to Loreta to hear reports of your care!
Specific requests:
- Smooth physical healing through the rehab process
- Wisdom and discernment for the team involved in caring for Loreta
- Grace and peace for Loreta during this difficult time
- Clear communication among everyone invovled
- Comfort and provision for the family who lost their 27 year-old daughter/mother in this horrific accident.  May God bring healing to their hearts.

"God heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
