We have recently learned that our mother's life journey here on earth is nearing its end. Even though we have known this time would come since she first began her battle with Parkinson's, it is still difficult to face the prospect of saying good-bye.
Yesterday (Monday, 1/11), Mom's regular hospice nurse came by to check on Mom and explained to us some of the obvious signs Mom's body is showing. All of the signs indicate Mom is in the final transition phase of the disease and, though there is no accurate predictor, the nurse feels that either this week or next Mom's time will come. She will leave her earthly body and join our Lord in Heaven.
We have posted, here on the Caring Bridge site, some of the photos we scanned last year and used for a slide show that Mom could watch on her TV. We invite you to add your comments and memories to any of these photos, post photos of your own, or send Mom messages, which we will read to her.
Although she is very tired, we know Mom still hears and understands but she may not always respond. So you can be sure she will hear your messages.
Thank you for your prayers and for the love you have for our mother.
