Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated.
Somewhere around Feb 15 2016, symptoms started, nausea, daily fevers, a dry cough. I finally went to the express care where they did a chest xray and found the tumors in my lungs. After many tests, it was determined to be kidney cancer. i had a large tumor on my right kidney. Which lead to a complete radical nephrectomy, including the adrenal gland. It was a big surgery. The actual question of whether my symptoms were caused by the cancer, or whether the symptoms pointed to an underlying infection, which happen to bring me to express care and we found the cancer..... we were all going by the former, but after the events of this past month, now that is in question. After the surgery, still had symptoms. After starting treatment, still symptoms. In fact, they got worse and led to almost 12 days on a ventilator. As much as I've been through in the past 20 days, I actually feel better than I have in the past 4 months. I haven't had a fever since I came off the vent. I haven't coughed. I actually have an appetite! If there was an underlying infection, they still don't know what it was.
This roller coaster ride is no where near over. But at least I feel like I turned some kind of corner. At least I have actual good days. I never felt alone, I've always felt my angels, both I can see and can't see.
