Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Sunday, October 16, 2022 we took Lola to the ER because she had a high fever for 5 days, was lethargic, pale, and unable to walk without feeling faint. We thought she had the flu, but that wasn't the case at all. The following day we were told she had B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. They started treatment on the 18th and we stayed at the hospital for 23 days until her blood counts were stable enough to go home. Her treatment will last about 2.5 years, so it’s a long road ahead but we have a wonderful medical team guiding us through it all. The great news is that on November 21, 2022 we found out that the chemo is working and there are ZERO leukemia cells in her body!! They will still continue the course of treatment because research shows it improves chances of not having a relapse. Additionally, if there’s some sneaky little abnormal cell hidden somewhere, the chemo will find it.
