Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Whether you call her Mom or Nana, Lois, or Gertie - you know she is 100% genuine, strong, caring, and nothing short of an angel.  For purposes of Caring Bridge we will use "Nana" because it's what most of us in the family call her anyway.  This year has dealt Nana some devastating blows, including losing her own mom in March followed by her husband/our "Pop" just three weeks later.  To say we were shocked by the fact that cancer is now messing with Nana is the understatement of the century.   We are following Nana's lead of strength and invite you join us as we walk beside her in this battle which we know she will win.

Nana first noticed a small lump on her groin but didn't pay it much attention for several months -  until it began to grow rapidly to the size of a grapefruit.   Imaging and bloodwork confirmed she has Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma which has  spread extensively; however, her oncologist is confident he can help her put this into long term remission.   Nana will undergo six rounds of chemotherapy followed by radiation over the next 6 months and the road will be difficult at times, but with everyone's support and prayers she's going to have many more years here with us.
