One day my doc was checking my heart routinely, and she suddenly looked very concerned and said I had a huge heart murmur. We decided to have an echo cardiogram and the test showed that I had sever stenosis of the artery and that I needed a new heart valve. This will require open heart surgery. The date is set for December 17th. It's a long wait, and I hope I can use this site both to keep everyone updated and to keep track of my thoughts and feelings (I'm aso keeping a paper journal, so I'll have a pretty complete record of the journey). Thanks for thoughts and prayers and being a part of the trip with me.
